The No B.S. Life

stop doing what doesn't matter. start living what does.

Why I created The No BS Life.

My Why

I was born with a rare gene. I didn’t know
it at the time. I was a happy kid…running, playing outside, climbing, riding my bike, eating (life isn’t much different today).

But, it all changed when I was 5. I went to school. This gene became very apparent and right from the start, it began to wreak havoc. Evidently, I had been born with a
non-physically life threatening, but if not treated properly,
soul sucking nonconformity gene.

It started to surface daily with things like not wanting to say the Pledge of Allegiance. It had nothing to do with being patriotic or not. I just remember this strong unease deep inside my being…this knowing…that I was 5, just a kid, and I was being required to recite something and pledge allegiance to something I didn’t even understand.

No one was explaining it either. It was just: stand up, hand over heart, pledge. If you didn’t, you got in trouble.

I got in trouble…a lot. I wasn’t trying to be difficult or a rebel for the sake of it. But, I felt a rub to my soul. Something was off here.

It wasn’t OK to just go along. It wasn’t OK to NOT question things. It wasn’t OK to NOT find my own truth(s).

So I promptly and thoroughly entered into a life of quiet desperation that got louder and louder with each passing year.

Because it was (and largely still is) not OK to NOT go along with schools, parents, and the deeply guarded norms of society. To go against these teachings, principles, and systems as a kid or a teen isn’t popular or pleasant. Heck, to go against them as an adult isn’t popular or pleasant.

All throughout my school years, I observed my friends and other classmates eagerly doing everything they could to “obey, follow rules, stay in line, not speak up, not question anything, and stress hard for good grades.

I was popular and had no problem making good grades or friends. But I felt incredibly isolated and alone. I wanted MORE.

I didn’t observe a zest for learning. I didn’t hear a teacher ever ask a young person’s dream.

I observed that most people who I was expected to learn from and respect in life were not successful or happy people. They didn’t have anything I wanted. My spirit was strongly saying, “Thanks, but no thanks.”

I never bought into the system: Get good grades, get into a good college, get a good job, get married, buy a house, have 2.5 kids, buy a bigger house, and work hard while putting the next generation through the same cycle. To end up where? Busy, stressed, overweight, unhealthy and unhappy? All in the name of “success”… and then retire and THEN spend your days how you’d really like.

I often wondered: What’s the freaking point to all this?  Can we just stop the madness? And all the B.S.!

My Dream

Even as a young person, I wanted PASSION,  FREEDOM, ADVENTURE, CREATIVITY, and MEANINGFUL PURSUITS. I wanted each and every day to feel like a daring adventure full of possibility (my own).

And that’s EXACTLY what I got. Or rather created. But, I can tell you, it was a long, painful journey. The “alternate path” is mighty hard to find in this society of ours. From 5 to 25 years old I was trying to “figure it out”… and during much of that time, I wondered what was wrong with me.

Why didn’t I fit anywhere? Why did I want so much more? Why couldn’t I just “go along” and be happy? During my teen years, I especially felt alone, trapped, misunderstood, repressed, and depressed.

Things did improve when I turned 18. I was FREE. Free to support myself financially and free to choose MY life. Free to screw up as I pleased. I welcomed it all. I did go to college. My degree was in Psychology. I wanted to change the world. I wanted to help people. I wanted to sit face to face with another human being and facilitate life transformation.

AND again, I was promptly and massively disappointed. In the early1990s this was not what Psychology was about. It was about pathology and mental illness. It was about long processes of digging into the past and if all went well someone’s life going from bad to OK. I was not inspired.

So armed with a 4 year degree in Psych, I was most qualified for two things: waiting tables and entry level sales jobs. I did both.

Success on Steroids

I also did a 3rd thing. It would be life changing. I put myself through an intense 6 year self study course of true success. I studied Universal Law, Life Purpose, High Performance, and Positive Psychology.  I studied folks who were happy, healthy, loved their work and were thriving financially.

WOW! I was blown away. THAT was what I wanted. THAT was what my heart had been calling out for. Who knew?

At 26, I finally felt like I had discovered the path to true success for the first time. I felt relief, happiness, passion, and such incredible possibility. And I also wondered something a little less pleasant:

Why the hell weren’t these teachings mandatory in school, in life!?

The fact that they aren’t is COMPLETE B.S.!  And, THAT my friend has become my very passionate WHY.

There are far too many young people suffering through a system that no longer works. There are far too many young people (and adults!) who are struggling in life. There is a huge lack of direction and real world practical “how to” when it comes to living a truly successful life.

Over the last 20 years, I have continued to study and practice the principles found in High Performance, Positive Psychology, Optimal Wellness, Life Purpose, Success, and Universal Law. I’m here to connect the dots to what I believe are some of the most powerful agents of transformation.

And, I’m here to illuminate THAT alternate path.  A path that doesn’t  mandate that  good grades,  a good college, a  good career is the one size fits all success plan.

My mission is to be on the forefront of defining a new way of teaching and living and to create a new model of success. A success model that includes and orients around: Living your passions and your purpose, Optimal Wellness, Personal Growth, Happiness, Freedom, Love and Self-Expression.

If you are interested in some of the things I’ve accomplished in life by following this alternate path, just click this link.

But, just to be clear. This is not about teaching you how to duplicate any of my results or life experiences (unless they are what you truly desire), it is about teaching you how to create your No B.S. + EPIC life based on the very uniqueness of you, and sharing certain power principles, laws, and practices to help you create and live your most extraordinary, No B.S. life.

:: We’ve been conditioned to believe that life must follow a set of rules. This is not true.

:: We’ve been conditioned to believe that success looks a certain way. It doesn’t.

:: We’ve been conditioned to believed that success must be reached through a series of steps like good grades, college, good job, etc. Not true.

:: We’ve been conditioned to believe we can’t really have what we desire. We can.

You are here to live YOU. Full out. Full on. Period.

My work is to help you discover (rediscover) WHO you really are and what you REALLY want and then deliver certain teachings so you have the knowledge and power to craft and create the life you desire. And to remind you as many times as needed that it is OK to be you, to be different, to be unique. To take your own path.

There isn’t a more noble pursuit than to give up what is expected of you in pursuit of what is REAL for you. I stand as your fierce advocate and guide in helping you to find YOUR place in this world.

That is my WHY.

Here’s to stopping the B.S.: all the learning, studying, stressing, and working toward all that doesn’t make sense, so you can begin living ONLY what does!
